EVENTS

The Jewish Women’s Foundation of the Greater Palm Beaches hosts a number of events throughout the year featuring guest speakers.

Full Trustees Meeting – Thursday, November 19 – The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m.at the Lola and Saul Kramer Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County building.

Each One Reach One – Wednesday, December 16 – An outreach opportunity for trustees to invite women who may be interested in the work of the JWF. The guest speaker will be Sara K. Gould, president and CEO of the Ms. Foundation for Women. The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at The Colony Hotel in Palm Beach.

Full Trustees Meeting – Wednesday, February 17 – Voting on the annual grants. The event will be held from 9:30 a.m. to noon at the Lola and Saul Kramer Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County building.

Grant Awards Luncheon – Wednesday, March 17 – The event will be held from 11:00 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at Cafe Sapori in West Palm Beach.

Annual Meeting of JWF Trustees – Wednesday, April 14 – The event will be held from 11:00 to 1:30 p.m. at Lola and Saul Kramer Jewish Federation of Palm Beach County building.

JWF Fifth Anniversary Celebration – December 5, 2007
Keynote Speaker: Letty Cottin Pogrebin

A founding editor of Ms. Magazine, Letty Cottin Pogrebin is the author of nine books. Her articles and essays have been published in major magazines and newspapers. In addition to her work as a writer, she has been a leader in many social justice organizations.

Each One Reach One - December 19, 2006
Guest Speaker: Dr. Catherine Steiner-Adair, Ed.D.

Dr. Steiner-Adair, a clinical instructor in the Department of Psychiatry at Harvard Medical School, has a private psychotherapy practice. She has appeared on TV and in films, and written for numerous women’s magazines. She was recognized as one of Jewish Women’s International’s “10 Women to Watch.”

Each One Reach One – January 10, 2005
Keynote Speaker: The Honorable Nancy G. Brinker

When Nancy Brinker’s sister, Suzy Komen, died of breast cancer at 36, she promised to fulfill her sister’s battle of the disease. In 1982 she established the Susan G. Komen Breast Cancer Foundation and founded the Komen Race for the Cure©, the largest series of 5K run/fitness walks in the world. Additionally, Ms. Brinker was appointed to the National Cancer Advisory Board and served as U.S. Ambassador to the Republic of Hungary.

2007 Grant Awards  - March 5, 2007
Keynote Speaker: Michal Yudin

Michal Yudin is the founder and co-chair of WEPOWER, a non-profit, non-partisan organization that promotes the active participation of women in Israel’s.
Democratic electoral process so that they can achieve parity at all levels of politics, policy and the decision-making process.

2006 Grant Awards Luncheon – March 29, 2006
Keynote Speaker: Karyn Grossman Gershon

Karyn Gershon is the executive director of Project Kesher, the largest Jewish women’s and fastest-growing human rights organization in the former Soviet Union. A graduate of Cornell University’s School of Industrial and Labor Relations and Northwestern University School of Law, she was a fellow at the Wexner Heritage Foundation.

 

At this time, The Jewish Women's Foundation is not accepting applications for signature grants for the 2011-2012 funding year. However, we are accepting issue-awareness grant applications for the 2010-2011 funding year.
